Paul Leichtman, a native New Yorker, has been in home remodeling and construction since 1978. Having started as a carpenter in Anchorage, Alaska Paul has worked on or supervised many different projects in different states.

They include:

• Superintendent for Black Angus Restaurants - Remodels in So. CA

• Residential Building and Remodeling - Palm Springs, CA

• Custom home builder - Columbus OH

• Superintendent Framing Equestrian Event Club House for the 1984 Olympics - Fairbanks Ranch, CA

Paul excels at getting home remodeling projects completed on time and on budget. Co-owner Rick Hink says "Paul is a master at getting our remodeling jobs done below budget and on time and he's a great recruiter of employees. Our craftsman love working for us because of our no nonsense approach to home construction.

Rick Hink worked as maintenance and electrical superintendent at 3M in Minnesota for 19 years. He started his own maintenance and remodeling business here in Tucson from 1996 to 1998. He worked building homes in Civano for two years from 1998 to 2000. That's where he worked with Paul Leichtnam and they decided to start their own contractors business. Rick also holds a residential electrical license, C-11.

Both Paul and Rick are members of Local 385 Elks Club.

How We Started Our Tucson Business

Bestway Builders LLC was founded in 2000 by local Tucson carpenters, Paul Leichtman and Rick Hink. "We'd been working together the past couple of years for a company out of California that was about to go out of business in Arizona" explains co-owner Paul Leichtman. "When the weekly paychecks stretched to ten days, that's when Paul and Rick started working on a business plan to form a contracting company. Co-owner Rick Hink states, "the plan was simple - get the required licenses, bonds, insurance, do quality construction work at reasonable prices, be prompt, reliable, dependable, honest and above all else make customer satisfaction our main focus point.

The construction business started out with the two owners doing most of the work but quickly grew when they were awarded a prime contract at The El Conquistador Resort in Oro Valley. Today, the Tucson construction company employs ten full time employees, including two lead carpenters. "The first five years are make or break years for a home remodeling and construction company" explains Paul. "We were really excited and hungry for work when we first started. We'd bid construction jobs in the evening and have our tool pouches on in the day. It was exhausting but we were getting quality jobs." In the six years Bestway Builders LLC has been in business we've done numerous remodeling projects thoroughout Tucson and Southern Arizona.
